Getting Stuck by Shower Door

A friend shared an article by one of the DAP rep propagating the conspiracy theory that the new Malaysian government is no different from the previous one that the rakyat has ousted. V, my friend, commented in Chinese in our Whatsapp group that we have boarded the wrong car; implying that we have voted for the wrong government. Another friend, I, quickly hop in the chat room and complaining that DAP has become like MCA.

It is our human nature to always looking for faults and imperfection. So much so that we forget that the present government is in power for less than a year but we expect them to be perfect. We have the capability to worry even if things are going our way. We are constantly tormented by our suspicious mind.

My 8 year old daughter just finished her shower and as I went in to grab the towel to her I accidentally got stuck in between the opened shower door and the wall next to me. She burst into laughter! The point is, a mishap like this may also be viewed negatively with unpleasant emotion but not in the eyes of my daughter. It was something funny which we both should be laughing about as we wind down in a lazy Sunday afternoon.

There are always good and positive things to be celebrated around us. Perhaps we will all be happier people if we stop looking for imperfections on other people.

Billion Dollar Whale

Have you read any good book lately? During his recent interview, multi-billionaire Bill Gates has personally recommended the book 'Billion Dollar Whale'. The book depicted the greatest financial scandal of the century and how vulnerable the current global financial system is against money laundering. Free market has created unprecedented wealth in our human history but also brought about the evil in us in pursuit of richness at the expense of ordinary folks.
